I am already there and I highly recommend it. I am finding out that I can easily live w/o it. Let’s bring back our local stores. Let’s rebuild our “downtowns”.

I am cancelling our Prime subscription. I have no idea how much I have spent in the last 20+ years, but I need to stop supporting the oligarchy—no matter how inconvenient. It will be a massive change and likely a positive shift in spending. I told my children—one of the only things I can do is speak with my pocketbook. Will it make a difference? If enough people stop feeding the oligarch machine…we can hope…

Yes. You'll save money by leaving Amazon. Firstly, you'll buy way less unnecessary crap, and I'm not even sure that all those credit points Amazon gives you is a simple gimmick. I'm shopping now with smaller shops, and the experience is much more enjoyable and actually cheaper.

I quit using Amazon in January when Bezos went to the inauguration. I have found it very easy to do without them. I’ve boycotted Walmart for over 5 years. And Target lost my business some weeks ago when they said they were going to do away with their DEI policies. Also, this week I’m boycotting General Mills. I find these boycotts to be easy. Similar goods for a few cents more are available. And, I’ve found I don’t need all the products I was buying.

So, I buy cat food and a cat digestive supplement on Amazon. The cat food is four dollars cheaper than my local pet smart and six dollars cheaper than my local MAGA pet store. The digestive supplement, ten dollars cheaper than my local pet smart and 17 dollars cheaper than my local MAGA pet store. Than comes out to around 30 or 40 dollars more per month to “buy local”. I live in a red state in a red area. Good choices don't always abound. Now, I'm working on it. You have to understand I'm not buying stuff for luxerys sake…I'm buying things I need for my day to day life. Like trash bags. Is it any better if I go to Walmart and Sam's club…because I damn sure can't afford the local MAGA market. And I buy fresh produce at farmers markets but most farmers are MAGA mutts who still believe Trumps a genius and if we just hold out things are going to be great. COSTCO is a half a tank of fuel farther away and I would have to pay for a membership. So, check your privledge.

Did you look around other web stores? Most things you see for sale on Amazon are from independent stores that sells there, but if you just search for anything online you’ll a bunch, and I mean hundreds of small stores. You don’t need Amazon.

I think you just do the best that you can. There are so many people who can’t leave their home to shop or have very limited options other than Amazon or Walmart or they simply can’t afford the prices of alternative vendors. For those of us with more choices-we can do the lift more easily.

Yes. And, every time you use a Visa card the big banks make money with their fees. I've switched mainly to cash.

It's tough to do, but it's easier than engaging in a civil war where you can't trust your neighbors or relatives.

I left Amazon early this year. Is it a bit inconvenient? Yes. But weigh that against the costs of losing our democracy. Yeah. So do it and if you'd like to learn more about how you can fight back with how you spend your money click on the link below to find a list of companies/brands that gave over 70% of their literal political capital to Rs.
